Explore Class Layouts

The Explore class presented by Shimelle Laine has come to a close. It was an awesome four week class and I did learn a lot.  I really enjoyed how Shimelle's prompts had us delve into our own scrapbooking styles and personalities. I think that I know my own personal style now and how to get my mojo working. I enjoyed the class so much that I have registered for her new class, Learn Something New Everyday. I'm sure you'll be seeing some of my creations once the class begins, September 1st.  In the meantime, here are four pages we did as a final project.

Our assignment was to take sketches and create four simple layouts that were pretty much finished.  That was stage A. They could go in the albums as is, or we could finish them further with more embellishments, title or journaling to take them to stage B. This should have been a difficult assignment for me, as I am a little anal and can never move on to a new layout until the first one is finished. But, I was surprised at how freeing it was to not have to consider a page "done". I could work on a page until the ideas for that one dried up, skip to the next one, then come back to the first one when an idea hit me. And I was very surprised how quickly I managed to get four pages done. Usually, it takes me a month to get that many pages done! I'm going to try to remember this technique the next time I take a scrappy weekend for myself. I may just break my record of 6 pages in three days. LOL!
